Served three times as prime minister. Dealt with labor unrest in coal mining industry. Praised for his handling of the abdication crisis in 1936, he resigned from office in May, 1937. Later as President of the Board of Trade he introduced the new Corn Laws and supported the Six Acts. Granted a peerage by prime minister, George Canning, he served as prime minister from 1827-28.
