Description: Held radical political views. Became Secretary of the Scottish Association of the Friends of the People in 1792. Government spies attended these meetings and Fox was arrested at a meeting in Edinburgh, found guilty of writing and publishing pamphlets on parliamentary reform and sentenced to 14 years in Australia where he died of dysentery, becoming the second Scottish Martyr.
